About Me
In 1989, I opened Oddo Design, in Houston, Texas, after attending the Art Institute of Atlanta on a full-scholarship, and after 5 years of full-time employment with 3 of the best graphic designers in the industry. Shortly thereafter, I began my transition from a print designer to an interactive designer.
Between 1995 and 1997, I designed the first public websites for several of Houston’s largest corporations, including: Houston Lighting & Power, Kent Electronics, and Weingarten Realty Investors. During that time, some of my early interactive work caught the attention of 2 authors, who featured my work in their book— Shockwave Studio: Designing Multimedia for the Web (Bob Schmitt, O’Reilly Media); and Easy Lingo for Macromedia Director (Jennifer Bennett, MIS:Press).
In 1998, I was ready for a change, and accepted an unsolicited offer to join an Internet startup, for which I designed one of the first mass-marketed, template-based, website creation tools for small businesses— in addition to designing the company’s corporate identity, corporate website, and marketing collateral. In late 1999, that company was acquired by Prodigy Communications for $100 million, and I relocated to Austin to serve as Prodigy’s Director of Web Design, and ultimately, Director of Creative Services.
In 2002, Prodigy was acquired by SBC (now AT&T), and I once again turned my attention to helping a variety of companies with their web presence and digital products, on a full-time basis.
